Synopsis

Jiaxin, a young Chinese girl who wanders angrily after being disciplined by her mother accidentally encounters and helps a female tourist Meng. Jiaxin refuses Meng’s adventure invitation and voyages to a wonderland with her mother.

 

This film uses the visual language of magical realism to show a girl's afternoon adventure and has a fateful connection and exchange with several generations of women in China. At the same time, there is a tentative questioning and thinking about self and systemic violence. Returning to the family itself, love may be an answer to the reality, magically.
